Surfing
Lennox Head is now a National Surfing Reserve. Surfers around the world know the point for its famous right hand point break, and is one of the longest and biggest warm water breaks in Australia.
Fishing
Beach fishing is one of the great attractions and the gutters that form inside the headland along Seven Mile Beach are home to a lot of whiting and dart. Bream and tailor are also sought-after, during the colder months.
Beach fishing is not the only form of angling available at Lennox Head. Trailer boats can be launched straight from the beach when conditions are favourable. The attraction is the reef, just outside the nearby point with the main fish being mackerel, snapper, bream and jewfish.
Lake Ainsworth
The perfect spot for young families that prefer calmer waters. There are excellent BBQ facilities, picnic tables, and a short walk to the beach. Catamarans and wind-surfers are available for hire. The distinctive tannin-stained waters from the surrounding tea trees is in stunning contrast with the white sands of Seven Mile Beach.
Hang Gliding
Fly as free as a bird from the grassed plateau on top of the headland. Very popular with the experienced and novice hang gliders. Adventurous hang gliders can enjoy the thrill of a tandem joy flight. Its only a matter of undergoing some basic training, and off you go.
Golf
For the avid golfer, there is an abundance of quality golf courses just a short drive from Lennox Head. Ballina, Byron, and Ocean Shores, are a few of the spectacular course available in the area.
Shopping
The shopaholic has not been forgotten. Byron Bay and Bangalow offer shopping that is both casual and unusual. Bangalow has been called the most fascinating upmarket shopping precinct between Sydney and Brisbane. Lennox is not to be bypassed in the shopping area. The main street has developed into an eclectic mix of boutiques, homeware stores, art and antiques.
Markets
The regional markets rotate each Sunday of the month. They offer the visitor alternative arts and crafts, eclectic entertainment and fabulous fresh local produce.
Dining
The far North Coast of NSW has become somewhat of a foodie’s mecca, and Lennox is no exception. There is a blend of new trendy eateries, and good old fashioned fish & chips. Al fresco coffee shops almost outnumber the accommodation choices, so if you're into ‘doing coffee’ this is the place do it!
If all this activity is too much, and you are prepared to ‘do nothing’ then a choice of massage, beauty salons and wellness centres, will ensure that your holiday is a journey to complete relaxation.
Sit back, relax and enjoy our little piece of paradise, Lennox Head.
